We take for granted that our heating system is going to work every time we turn it on from the thermostat. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. Here are three things as a homeowner that you could check before having to make a service call.
If you watched our ‘How-To’ Series on Air Conditioning systems, the first two things for your furnace would be the same.
#1 is your filters – make sure your filters are cleaned at least every 1-3 months.
#2 would be your thermostat – we know it sounds simple but replacing your batteries once a year could prevent you from having to call a service technician.
#3 for anyone who has a high-efficient furnace, check the vent termination outside. Our video demonstrates the piping that you would generally see outside. You want to keep these items clear of snow, ice or any build up around it, any vegetation, etc. This has to be clear in order for your furnace system to work properly.
We hope these three tips helped you. If you are still experiencing problems, please give us a call at Affordable Heating and Cooling and we would be glad to come and take a look at it and get it working for you.
