FAQ
Have questions about our Filter and Purifier services? Find the answers in our list of FAQs. Contact our office for more information.
How do air purifiers help with allergies?
Air Purifiers add a physical filter to your air circulation system, removing particulate every time your furnace circulates your air. A modern, efficient furnace combined with an air purifier can provide 24/ 7 filtration.
What is a HEPA filter, and do I need one?
HEPA stands for High-Efficiency Particulate Air and must be able to remove 99.97% of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns – this includes dust, large bacteria, and smoke. If you suffer from allergies or asthma, HEPA filters are recommended to help reduce symptoms.
How often should I change my filters?
Generally its recommended to change your filter every 90 days; if you have pets or are sensitive to air quality, more often may help. Pre-filters are to be replaced every 1-3 months, and HEPA filters every 1-3 years. If there are very few occupants in the home, less frequency is possible.
How do I know if the air in my home is dirty?
Visible signs like dust are one indicator. But residents having symptoms of congestion or sinus irritation that clear up when leaving the home may also be an indicator.
What is the difference between an air filter and an air purifier?
An air filter is a physical component that a fan pushes air through. An air purifier is an active device that uses one or more technologies to not just trap particles but neutralize odors, gases, or microorganisms like viruses.
